School Caretaker – required from mid October 2019 or soon after

Service Conditions: Surrey Pay, Permanent Contract

Salary Grade/Range: PS5 (£21,169 to £23,367 per annum)

Accommodation: Family accommodation available on site if required for 7% of the annual salary.

Working Pattern: 36 hours a week, 52 weeks a year, on a split shift pattern between the hours of 7.00am and 6.30pm

Responsible for: Assistant Caretaker and/or Maintenance Assistants

St John’s CofE Primary School is seeking to appoint a responsible, enthusiastic and hard-working caretaker to join our dedicated team to help ensure that our school and learning environment is the best it can be.

You will be responsible for the security, caretaking and general maintenance needs of the site to ensure the school is a safe and secure environment for pupils, teachers and visitors. You will need excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature towards children of all ages. Previous experience of working in a school environment would be beneficial, along with relevant technical knowledge and an understanding of Health and Safety issues.  Please click here for a copy of the job description and person specification.

 Cover Staff

We are keen to build up a bank of people who can provide cover when the school faces staff shortages due to sickness and training.  We are particularly keen to build up a pool of staff to cover our Breakfast Club, After School Club and during lunch breaks.

The hours are as follows:

  • Breakfast Club: 7.20 a.m. – 9.15 a.m.
  • Lunch: 12.15 p.m. – 1.30 p.m.
  • After School Club: 2.45 p.m. to 6.15p.m.

We offer a competitive salary with a full induction to ensure that all our staff, regardless of how many hours they work, are all given the same excellent training.
