St Johns has been judged as ‘good’ in our recent Church School Inspection
The inspector spent time in classes, met the school council and chatted to pupils throughout the day. She noted:
“The inclusive nature of the school that values all pupils and their families in a warm, safe and welcoming environment rooted in its values. “
And…
“Excellent relationships between all groups of the school community, pupils, staff, parents, governors and clergy, which strengthen the worshipping life of the school and the church.”
“As a result of the trusting Christian ethos pupils grow into respectful, well behaved and compassionate young people who have an understanding and respect for diversity and difference together with a motivation to help others in their community and beyond. “
“Worship is central to the life of the school and one of the main ways through which the school expresses its Christian character. “
The teaching of RE allows “Pupils (to) develop a good understanding of Christianity, making links between beliefs and practices of other religious faiths.”
